Katja Košir, PhD in psychology, works as a lecturer at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts at the University of Maribor. She works with future teachers, psychologist and (inclusive) pedagogues; in addition, she participates in the teacher education training program (PAI). Her research interests are mainly focused on the non-cognitive factors of academic performance, especially social relations, i.e. peer relations and student-teacher relations and their role in students’ academic performance as well as their assessment. For several years, she was the head of the Center for Education and Professional Development at the Faculty of Education, University of Maribor. As an implementer of various trainings for professionals in the field of education, she strives to transfer scientific findings into practice and to effectively integrate and co-operate between academic community and educational institutions. She is and associate editor at the scientific journal Horizons of Psychology. In 2017, she received the award of the Educational Research Institute and The Slovenian Educational Research Association for outstanding achievements in the field of research in education.
